I am freaking out. Like I hate studying and I really suck at it. If I try to study with other people, I get side tracked. I am helpless. I hate the end of the year. It means having to clean up a BIG mess and it sucks. Well, at least this year will be easier. Tomorrow we have to bring EVERYTHING home. Mr.Fisher said that he didn’t care if we had 58 pounds of binders, we have to bring EVERYTHING home. I brought some things home because I didn’t want to have to bring a lot of things tomorrow. Well, I guess that is it.

We have to do a blog post on censorship, so here it goes!

What is a censorship? 

A censorship is when a person thinks that something shouldn’t be allowed. People who say those things have to be censored, all you have to do is take them out.

What are things censored? 

I think that things are censored because some people argue about them. Like parents would argue about some song that has swears in it because they feel like their children shouldn’t here that type of stuff. And if someone thinks that then they would do it to get more audience and money.

Give two examples of censorship. 

- The song “This Ain’t A Scene It’s An Arms Race” By Fall Out Boy

-  The song “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs” , Also by Fall Out Boy

These two songs are censored on the radio and on T.V. They are censored because they have some words in there that some younger kids aren’t allowed to here. I chose these two things because I enjoy listening to them and they were are on the radio a lot.

Do you think there are “good” reasons to censor some material?

I think it depends on what you mean. If you mean is there a “good” reason for us, or for the company I would say yes to us and no to the company. I would say yes to “Us” (meaning teens) because, we are getting to be more rude in this time. I think it would be good for the company because if they listen, and mostly everyone is saying to censor it, then they do to get money. If they didn’t censor it then their audience would quit listening to the stuff they make, causing them to lose money. For the companies it is mostly all about the money, so it would make a big impact on them.

Did I make the right desicion on censoring the video?

I think that you did make the right choice. I believe this because it was a pretty rude picture, and then a lot of people would be mad at them and it would make a big commotion. And like you had said in school, if Mr.Elliot thought that there was a commotion on the internet, then he might not let us have blogs, and that could have a great impact on how we learn. Even though I think you made the right choice, I think that you should post up both of the videos, and see what the audience has to say about the two.

Hii.

Im bored. Can you tell from my title. So, I’m just sitting here. Hanging out at school. Being bored. Having fun. Just kidding. Anyways, It’s Monday, which means that I just had my weekend. Which means, it was semi-formal. It was pretty fun. There were yummy drinks. I really liked the Hurricane drink. It was pretty yummy. I think that my hair was rather good looking too.

I just made another paragraph because the other one was getting boring. I’m weird, wanna know why? Well I get bored of things easy. It can be really bad for somethings, like when Mr.Fisher is explaining things, I like tune out and then when he is done I’d be all like, Huh? So it really sucks, but I don’t think I can do anything about it..

Bored, yet again. I am in the classroom. And so is Elaine, Katie and Ashley. So…This is fun. I wish I were an oscar myer wiener. Just kidding.  But I do wish I was a penquin. They are so cute. My favorite numbers are 0 and 85. I like them. A lot. No clue why. My best friend is Derek. My best friend is Kate. I like jumping. Do you like to curl? I think when you curl, it gets cold. Do you think this is a random post?

We finally finished our videos. So now we have to do a reflection. Well, here are my answers.

What have you learned about your topic? 

My topic was bulimia. I learned that there is more then one type of bulimia. There is actually two. One is where you binge, which means that you eat a lot, and then you purge, which means you throw up. The second type is when you just exorcise and don’t eat that much. That is kind of like anorexia.

What have you learned about collaborating locally and internationally? 

I learned about collaborating locally is easier then internationally because you can communicate easier and you can change ideas easier. Internationally can have its ups and downs. It can be very fun. You get to know other people and it can help you when you are older. But you can’t always share your ideas or have a say in what they do.

What would have made this project easier/better/more interesting?

Easier-Something that would make this project easier would be if you could have more of an idea of what the people are going to give you for a project.

Better- Something that would make this project better would be if we had a better kind of software. The pinnacle could have worked bettewr.

More Interesting- Something that would make it more interesting would be if our partner that was doing the video gave us more video. It would be pretty sweet if they went and interviewed people.

What have you learned about telling a story combining pictures/music/videos/audio/text?

I learned about combining pictures,videos and things like that, that you can have a whole bunch of fun with it, but it can be a very difficult thing to do. When you have to work with different software that you aren’t used to, it can really make it hard. With music, it could be difficult because it has to be c.c. and sometimes c.c. music is hard to find. In the end you have to put a ton of credits, but it is worth it!

We have to write a big post on Mixtures. We have to write descriptions,examples and add pictures. To get bonus marks, we have to take our own pictures. The The Words that we have to use are Homogeneous mixtures(solutions), Hetrogeneous mixtures(mechanical), saturated solutions and unsaturated solutions. This post is out of twenty, with the extra points you can get twenty-five. Well, Here goes all.

Definitions

Homogeneous Mixtures: A homogeneous mixture is a mixture that is mixed very well so you cannot see the different substances in it. This is when the mixture is already dissolved. It is also known as a solution.

Hetrogeneous Mixtures: A hetrogeneous mixture is a mixture that you can see every substance in it. The substances do not dissolve. This is known as a mechanical mixture.

Saturated Solution- A saturated solution is a solution in which it has enough substances so that they will mix and won’t be seen at the bottom of the liquid.

Unsaturated Solution- An unsaturated solution is a solution that has enough substance so you can see it.

Examples

Homogeneous Mixture: Kool-aid(basically any kind of drink mix), Milk, Cheese, Jell-o, Paint and bread.

Hetrogeneous Mixture- Granola Bar, Bird Seed, Lime Stone, Cement, Asphalt, Trail Mix, Bread, Dressing, Orange Juice.

Saturated Solution- Juice, Water, Any drink mixture.

Unsaturated Solution- Salt Water, Orange Juice, Cereal(With sugar on it)

In class we spent a lot of time making radio plays. We were split up in to groups of three. My group was with Dustin and April. We named our play The Mystery of the Car Wreck. It was pretty fun in the end!

We used a software called Audiocity. Sometimes it would be a pain in the neck, but there was a lot of things you could do with it. For example, you could make someones voice go really low. But there was no time for fooling around on this project. So we had to get down to business. Our challenges for the project were, when we first started we had no clue to what would happen. Everything when fine and dandy untill we had to save it. The computer would freeze everytime, but it would save. Then the next day we would come in and our files weren’t put together, meaning we would have to delete it and start over. This had happened a lot of times. Another thing was that I was sick for part of it so they couldn’t really do anything without me, making us fall behind. Another problem for us was that our radio play went over the time limit, so we would have to get docked marks. We couldn’t really live without those marks so we had to take out one of the parts in the play. It wasn’t needed anyway. In the end it still was over a couple of seconds. But we got over it. I learned that you shouldn’t get to fusturated over little things and you have to live with things that go wrong. Just keep on going!

The processes in our radio plays were that first we had to write out a a script. There had to be at least one character for each person. It was kind of hard to think of a whole script, but we obviously managed to do it. Next we had to figure out how to work audiocity. Mr. Fisher had helped us with that one. We had to set up the headphones to talk in to. That is a pretty obvious step, seeing as how it is a radio play. Anyways, we had to edit the whole thing and put in our own music and put the whole thing together. That was the final step in to finishing our radio plays.

The literacy in our radio play was that you have to listen to it. There is no script that you can read. In the older days there wouldn’t have been this kind of technology to make a radio play on the interenet. The only way that you could have made a radio play was on an acutal radio. Which would only happen if you owned a radio station.

For the editing and the production choices it was kind of hard to pick what we wanted or what we didn’t want. We didn’t want something that was all crackly or you couold hear someone in the background. We would want something that had a quiet background and it was clear and good. But sometimes the day would end and the next day we would forget to fix it, so we left it like that.

So, do you remeber when I wrote the post on how we were helping the grade fives? Well they asked us a couple of questions, so here are the answers.:)

1. What are some tips on how to proofread on a blog?

Answer= The best thing to do is to type it out on a word document. When you type it out on a word document, it shows you what your spelling errors are. This is a very easy and quick way to proofread. Also you could ask a friend if you can proofread theirs and they and proofread yours. If this doesn’t work then you can go easily go on to google and see if they have any sites that you can proofread on.

2. What is your favorite or most intersting thing you like about blogging?

Answer: Well, I would have to say that my most favorite thing is that you get to be who you want to be. It is also a very fun way of learning. And it’s an easy way of learning about the internet. I think that blogging is way better then paper work.:lol:

3. What makes you want to comment on a blog?

Answer: I love commenting. The thing that makes me most want to comment on a blog is knowing that the person who wrote the post would be glad to know that they got a comment. I know that when I get a comment it makes me feel speacial and I know that people are reading my blog!

4. What’s the worst problem you have in blogging?

Answer: My number one worst problem with blogging is spam. I absolutely hate it. IT can be pretty mean. When I first started blogging, I didn’t have any spam, nor did I think I would get some. I barely even knew what spam was. But a couple of months later I got some nasty comments, in which tons of other people did too. We had to do a lot of work just to get rid of some. But now we barely get any. Also with learnerblogs, they are updating. It is totally different now, and I have no clue how to moderate my comments! It is driving me insane. I know that I get comments because I get e-mails saying that I do. It is pretty annoying.

What’s up? Well, as you should know, we are on Spring break. I had a really fun spring break. I went to Winnipeg and I had a great time there. For the rest of my spring break I was stuck in Snow Lake. Luckily my mom came for a few days. Anyways, it is sadly, Sunday. That means there is school. I think it will be tough to wake up tomorrow. UGH!! Haha. Anyways, I hope everyone has had a great s.b.=)

So today I am going to write a post about a really good show. That show is called America’s Next Top Model or ANTM. I really like this show.

My favorite person in this show now is Jael. She is like super pretty. I really hope she wins. But I also really dislike one of the people. That person is Natasha. I HATE her. Like really, who could like her. And on the last episode she was in the bottom two. But the other girl got kicked out. The other girl that got kicked out was Samantha. She was very pretty but she wasn’t really the model type. She didn’t do anything interesting in her photo’s.

America’s Next Top Model is on today. I saw some previews of it and it looks REALLY good. I can’t wait. Kate was supposed to watch it with me but she has to go to Ranger’s. It kind of sucks that she can’t watch it. Anyways, That’s pretty much it about ANTM. Who’s your favorite? Who is your least favorite?

Wow. I just keep on posting. Wait no, thats a lie. This is only my second post of the day. Anyways, I was getting bored so I decided to write a blog post. Ooh! I am soo excited for this weekend! Wanna know why? Well it’s the Winter Whoot! And I really can’t wait. I am going into human curling with Derek, Kate and my dad. I can’t wait!! Hmm…Maybe I should explain the Winter Whoot first. Okay, so its this little thing that happens EVERY year. It usually takes place at the Community Hall, or Outside. It is basically just a fun little weekend where we go on horse rides, have penny parades, go play shinny hockey and we have tons of fun! Its great. Kind of like a mini carnival.

But I really can’t wait for it. Anyways, I really have to go. Sorry for such a small post.

Anyways, Hii.

So this post was basically about the Winter Whoot. Which is a really great, fun time:) I really like it. Anyways, today at 6:00 PM there will be a little skating show in which my older sister is in. The theme for the skating show is Seaseme Street( I probably spelt that wrong:P) My sister is going to be Big Bird and Little Miss Piggy. She had  to make her own costume because there weren’t any Big bird or Little Miss Piggy outfits for her. She doesn’t want anyone to watch it, but that is the whole point of it! But yeah, thats pretty much it. Oh and today I finished my math REALLY early so all I get to do is check out my bloglines and learnerblogs and stuff. I could be working on my radio play but it is soo frusturating, so I decided not to:P Mr.Fisher hasn’t really given us a due date for it yet.
