We have to do a blog post on censorship, so here it goes!

What is a censorship? 

A censorship is when a person thinks that something shouldn’t be allowed. People who say those things have to be censored, all you have to do is take them out.

What are things censored? 

I think that things are censored because some people argue about them. Like parents would argue about some song that has swears in it because they feel like their children shouldn’t here that type of stuff. And if someone thinks that then they would do it to get more audience and money.

Give two examples of censorship. 

- The song “This Ain’t A Scene It’s An Arms Race” By Fall Out Boy

-  The song “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs” , Also by Fall Out Boy

These two songs are censored on the radio and on T.V. They are censored because they have some words in there that some younger kids aren’t allowed to here. I chose these two things because I enjoy listening to them and they were are on the radio a lot.

Do you think there are “good” reasons to censor some material?

I think it depends on what you mean. If you mean is there a “good” reason for us, or for the company I would say yes to us and no to the company. I would say yes to “Us” (meaning teens) because, we are getting to be more rude in this time. I think it would be good for the company because if they listen, and mostly everyone is saying to censor it, then they do to get money. If they didn’t censor it then their audience would quit listening to the stuff they make, causing them to lose money. For the companies it is mostly all about the money, so it would make a big impact on them.

Did I make the right desicion on censoring the video?

I think that you did make the right choice. I believe this because it was a pretty rude picture, and then a lot of people would be mad at them and it would make a big commotion. And like you had said in school, if Mr.Elliot thought that there was a commotion on the internet, then he might not let us have blogs, and that could have a great impact on how we learn. Even though I think you made the right choice, I think that you should post up both of the videos, and see what the audience has to say about the two.
